The English Department of the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for the position of tenured or tenure-track Associate Professor in English and Digital Arts, starting in the Fall of 2016. The successful applicant will have a PhD in English and will be an active researcher who can contribute to our vibrant graduate and undergraduate programs by teaching traditional and online courses in the required areas of expertise. Strong preference will be given to candidates whose research interests include pre-20th-century African American literature, computers and writing, digital archives, digital/social media, empirical research methods utilizing big data, literacy studies, and literary studies. The position also entails service to the Department and University, such as mentoring graduate students or serving on committees.
