Assistant Professor of English (Missouri Valley College)

The Division of Communications, Humanities, and Human Services at Missouri Valley College, a private liberal arts college, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of English to begin August 1, 2016.  The teaching load may include such courses as Rhetoric and Composition, Literature and Composition, Humanities I and II, Film Criticism and American Culture, Creative Writing, Technical Writing, and Advanced Composition.

Qualifications include a Ph.D in Rhetoric and Composition, with teaching experience in first-year composition as well as creative writing (publications preferred) or film studies.  Collegiality, professionalism, a strong commitment to teaching excellence and to the college mission, and willingness to serve on campus committees and to advise students are also necessary qualifications.  Familiarity with Google Apps for Education and Moodle preferred.  To apply please email cover letter, c.v., contact information for three references, and a statement of teaching philosophy (all in PDF format) to Dr. Dave Reinheimer, Chair,
