Assistant Professor of 19th-century and African American Literature (St. Anselm College)

The Department of English at Saint Anselm College, a Roman Catholic undergraduate liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition in Manchester, NH, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position to begin in August 2016.  The successful candidate will demonstrate both scholarly and teaching excellence in nineteenth-century American Literature with a particular emphasis in African-American Literature.  Primary teaching responsibilities will include American literature, core courses for the major, Freshman Composition and Humanities, as well as specially developed courses within the instructor’s area(s) of specialty. We plan to interview at the MLA Convention in January.
