FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Full-time tenure track positions (2) available for Fall 2015 to teach English composition and literature. Applicants should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, experience in the teaching of writing, and a familiarity with a diverse, urban higher education setting. While we welcome all applicants with a PhD in English or a related field, we are particularly interested in candidates with scholarly and teaching backgrounds in African American literature, literature of the Caribbean, and folklore. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the activities of the department and the college.
Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

$42,873 – $74,133; commensurate with experience and qualifications.
