Assistant/Associate Professor (Lindenwood University, Belleville)

English: Location: Lindenwood University, Belleville, Ill. Start Date: Applications accepted immediately. The English department at Lindenwood University-Belleville invites applications for the appointment of a full-time, annually renewable assistant or associate professor of English with specialties in rhetoric/composition and American literatures, to commence August 2015.
Primary responsibilities of this position will be 1) teaching four courses per semester, including introductory composition courses and advanced undergraduate courses in literature and writing, as well as J-Term and summer courses; and 2) oversight of the General Education Rhetoric/Composition program, including curriculum development, writing placement, and adjunct training and evaluation. Other responsibilities include helping to grow the major, advising students, assessment, and service on university committees. Preference will be given to candidates who have broad teaching ability and who can demonstrate flexibility and creativity in their approach to the academic experience. Education Requirements: PhD in English, rhetoric/composition, or closely related field, completed by July 31, 2015. Hours/Days: Salaried. Exempt/non-exempt status: Exempt.
