Assistant Professor African-American Literature and History and Theory of Race in Literature (University of Toledo)

The University of Toledo Department of English Language and Literature invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in African-American literature and History and Theory of Race in Literature to begin August 2015. The successful candidate must have a strong grounding in African-American Literature and expertise in broader issues surrounding race in American literature and literary theory. The candidate should demonstrate commitment to excellence in research and teaching and will have earned the PhD by the time of appointment. Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in American and African-American literature and culture, as well as general English courses.
