The Department of English at Brandeis University seeks to appoint a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in American literature to 1865, beginning Fall 2015. We are interested in both Colonial and Antebellum specializations; expertise in Transatlantic or Hemispheric American studies is especially welcome. It is expected that the successful candidate will have received the PhD by September 2015 and will demonstrate excellence as both a scholar and a teacher. We plan to interview at the MLA Convention in January. Please send cover letter, c.v., and three letters of recommendation to Prof. Caren Irr, Search Committee Chair, Department of English.
Applications will be accepted electronically through Interfolio. First consideration will be given to applications received by Monday November 3, 2014. Brandeis University is an equal opportunity employer, committed to building a culturally diverse intellectual community, and strongly encourages applications from women and minorities.
