The next meeting of the Texas Regional SSAWW Study Group will be Saturday October 12, 2013 at Weatherford College (outside DFW), hosted by Sarah Lock. The common reading will be Laura Curtis Bullard’s Christine, or Women’s Trials and Triumphs (1856), which fictionalizes the experiences of an early woman’s rights leader. We’ll be reading the 2011 U Nebraska edition, edited by Denise M. Kohn, and Dr. Kohn will be our special guest participant.
Please RSVP to Sarah Lock at firstname.lastname@example.org by September 25, and indicate whether you plan to stay for dinner.
Information about the reading, location, directions, schedule, housing, and meals is available at: http://txssaww.wordpress.com/
ABOUT THE STUDY GROUP: Our meetings typically start at noon with a lunch provided by the host campus. We then discuss the common reading for a few hours, with coffee break, and conclude around 5pm. Dinner is held at a local restaurant, with each individual responsible for the cost of his/her meal. Our participants are faculty members, graduate students, and independent scholars. Discussions are wide ranging, lively, and stimulating.
Please help us spread the word by forwarding this to your colleagues, grad students, or anyone you think would like to join the conversation. We welcome new participants!
